A bite from #lockdownexperiment Episode 4. Calling this song Sum Of All Gold. Next Episode is on Friday the 8th of May. Thanks to all of you who have been sharing this Friday evening commitment with me. The response, and this whole experience has been so rewarding. I wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t for you! Love YA 🖤 Many of you have been asking me to upload these songs in their entirety either on Soundcloud or YouTube. I’m working on it ;) Audio on the Instagram feed was clipping like hell but thankfully I’ve been recording my DI’s as backup

My eyes are narrow slits I can barely see out of this morning. I’m up at 4 am after 4 hours of sleep, 3 weeks in a row. This last week has been exceedingly infuriating with fewer than 4 hours of basically disturbed sleep every night. I don’t want to look into the mirror to see my swollen eyes and cheeks, my tightened jaw. As the recent days have been turning into evening, I have the dull and gray ‘Brain Fog’ visiting. Still, no sleep, because my brain can’t appreciate how tired it is. Deep slow wave sleep sounds like sound fiction. Ocean waves, sounds of the jungle, luscious pink noise can’t keep me down. Beyond lavender, beyond meditation, beyond Xanax. Beyond repair. This too shall pass. This too shall pass. I repeat. I go to bed inviting sleep to usurp me, conquer me, annihilate me, or just befriend me. I love you, I embrace you, I want you to weigh me down, I want to understand you and for you to understand me. I want to melt into you. I fall asleep within minutes and 4 hours later, my mind is sharp and driven as an arrow. My body able and agile. But it’s 4 fucking o’clock. Waking up excites me. I can’t wait to glide into creative flow. I don’t know what this sleepless syndrome is, what its’ root is, because I love life. I have an inkling that I need to distance from my drive, excitement for life, this fire I carry. I know I need to switch off at night but my brain just keeps ripping with tedious circadian chatter, sometimes a clever idea. The last time I remember getting 8 hours of sleep was on the 2nd of January, my birthday and over the two following weeks. Days felt like heaven on earth, cheesy but true. As I’m letting this out into the ether, I pray and hope and hope and pray that this maddening bout of insomnia will pass tonight and I collapse into a pin drop peaceful dreamland. Whatever this is that I’m experiencing, perhaps it’s for the best. I believe.🤞🏽Tonight, I will give it another shot. One night at a time. This too shall pass. This too shall pass. P.S. Send me a lullaby. ~ Snippet of #lockdownexperiment Episode 2. Next one is on the 17th at 5pm EST. This Friday, I plan to take a hot bath and sleep like a baby.
